Arduino programming in industrial environment? Yes, this is possible. The new DigiRail NXprog from NOVUS combines the ease of Arduino programming with the robustness of an equipment for industrial usage.
DigiRail NXprog integrated I/Os handles both analog and digital signals, so it can be used as an I/O extension for standard automation systems, or as the brain of stand-alone applications.
Unlikely most PLCs which impose certain programming difficulties to the average user, the DigiRail NXprog programming is Arduino compatible, allowing for the use of high-level programming languages, such as C and C++. This way, users can program complex algorithms such as recursive logic, state machines, statistical analysis and mathematical equations in a very simple way.
Through its RS485 interface running Modbus RTU protocol, the DigiRail NXprog communicates with other devices acting either as a master or as a slave. It also incorporates an industrial Ethernet port running Modbus TCP protocol, enabling itself to industry 4.0 applications. In addition, the DigiRail NXprog can work with protocols from the Arduino community library as well as with other proprietary protocols.
DigiRail NXprog was designed to withstand hostile environments while being an easy to use product. It proves that it is possible to combine Arduino compatible devices with industrial environments. DigiRail NXprog offers robustness with ease of programming and can be used in various applications with connectivity to machines and processes.
Aderbal Lima, founding partner, CEO of NOVUS for 38 years and current board member of the company, participated in a business mission to Dubai in the second half of November. Lima attended the event as a representative and president of the Foreign Trade Council of FIERGS (Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). The activities at Expo Dubai serve to create networking between entrepreneurs and investors. In addition, it was also possible to visit startups and the information technology industrial center.
When the integrity of a product or package is threatened because of variations in humidity, the control and recording of this variable are essential to avoid losses. To maintain the quality standard in measurements, equipment with calibration certification is required. Thus, NOVUS offers relative humidity calibration for all its compatible products and for third-party instruments.
NOVUS collective vacation begins on December 27, 2021. The company returns to work on January 6, 2022.
The 13th edition of the Smart Grid Forum takes place on November 29th and 30th in São Paulo, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center. In addition to participating in the exhibition, NOVUS supports the initiative as a sponsor in this edition that has the theme "Accelerating energy digitalization and sector modernization in Brazil and Latin America".
The electronics manufacturer, whose headquarters are in the Canoas Innovation Park, was able to circumvent the component shortage and continue growing in 2020 and 2021
