Objective: Remotely access the AirGate-3G router utilizing a Dynamic DNS [DDNS] server.
1.1 Objective:
Remotely access the AirGate-3G router utilizing a Dynamic DNS [DDNS] server.
The IP of the Router is configured for a 3G network, therefore, because this IP is dynamic, with every change of the IP address it is necessary to reconfigure the supervision software. In order to avoid this problem, the 3G router should use a dynamics DNS (DDNS) that translates a dynamics IP address into a host. In this tutorial we will show how to register a free server through www.noip.com which will allow you to create 1 hostname for functionality demonstration. These services are paid subscriptions and it will be necessary to pay for its full use.
Figure 1 – Initial screen of www.noip.com.
Figure 2 – Plan selection.
After you have completed the registration, you will be presented with the options Hosts/Redirects.
Figure 3 - Hosts/Redirects.
Click on the option Add a Host, you will be presented with a page similar to Figure 4:
Figure 4 - Add a host.
At this stage it is enough to create the host name and mark the option DNS Host (A). In this tutorial we will create the domain name: novuspiloto.ddns.net. At the end of the configuration you will be presented with a confirmation screen, as in Figure 5.
The option Modify is available to edit the Host.

1.2 Configuration of the AirGate-3G:
After the creation of the Host, it is necessary to active the dynamics IP feature on the Airgate-3G. In this tutorial we use Eth0 as the LAN interface used for configuration. The factory default IP address is 192.168.0.1 [highlighted on the label] with username and password: admin
Note: The primary interface in this application is Cellular, the Eth0 interface can operate on a WAN as a backup, for example, to maintain the data sent to the NOVUS Cloud IoT plataform connected devices in case of a failure of the primary interface.
Figure 7 – User Authentication.
In the option Link Manager it is possible to configure the primary and backup interfaces of the AirGate-3G.
Figure 8 – Link Manager.
In the option DynDNS we need to define the type of service, and configure the parameters for HostName, users and passwords. Check the figure 9 below;
Figure 9 - DynDNS.
The DynDNS status message presents information to help diagnose if the service is working correctly.
Important: Remember that to complete a new configuration it is necessary to apply, save and reboot the device. To verify the activation of the service, it is possible to configure the USR LED in order to see if the service is in operation.

1.3 Summary:
After this configuration it is possible to remotely access (Via 3G) the Airgate-3g using a Dynamic DNS server, to complete configuration changes and to display the variables behind a SCADA system.
